Ideas for space
« on: February 05, 2016, 07:50:02 AM »
I'm working on an 88 K5 Blazer right now. It was completely stock, but I recently finished an ls swap/transmission. After a few months, I've been noticing little annoyances with space and access since the motor wasn't designed for the truck. The oil pan drain plug is 2 inches away from the front diff drive line, so when i change oil, it pours out all over the shaft. The starter is just about impossible to get to now - there is some heavy duty bracket on the chassis with a rubber end on it getting in the way (is this just some sort of safety if the passenger side leaf spring breaks?).

Anyway - I was curious if a lift would alleviate some of these space issue? Seems like it might. I've actually never had a lift on any of my toys and have gotten around pretty good on the trails I play on. Thoughts?
